Quartz Care

Quartz Care & Maintenance

Engineered quartz products are a durable and easy care surface for your home. They are manufactured to be non-porous, unlike natural granites and marbles. This means that they do not need to be sealed and are naturally stain resistant.

Each company publishes their own care and maintenance guidelines. These are usually available for download on their websites and will also be provided to you by Stone Center, Inc. after your stone is installed. In general, we recommend you follow the below advice for your quartz product:

  • Don’t use abrasive cleaners
  • Avoid exposing your counter to extreme heat (use coasters and trivets)
  • Use a cutting board to avoid scratching the counter
  • Use a mild soap and cotton cloth to clean your counter

Cleaning

Use a damp cloth to wipe the stone or a liquid dish soap to remove oil or grime from the surface. Rinse with clean water to remove residual soap film. For adhered materials such as dried food or gum, use a plastic putty knife to scrape the counter clean. Follow up by cleaning with soap and water. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners. A dry cloth can be used to dry and buff the quartz and remove any streaking.
